Successful Together: Baked French Toast

May 26, 2011

Baked French Toast

1 loaf wheat french bread (approx 10 oz)  cut in to 15 slices
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon ginger

In a 9x13 glass baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray, evenly layout the bread slices. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl until well blended. Pour liquid mix back in to a measuring cup (about 2 cups!) and pour evenly over the bread slices.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 8 hours.

Preheat oven to 400. Remove plastic wrap and bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Serve and Enjoy.

Each slice comes out to be 2 Points+ (additional Points+ for syrup or other add-ons!)
Ed and I both liked this and I think there are many other variations/flavor combinations out there. You can slim it down some, using different breads, eggs and milk, but as per the norm, I was using what I had on hand that was cheap!

  1. I like these kinds of recipes because if you have company staying with you, then you can make it the night before and have a breakfast ready. Looks really good!

  2. oh delish, I am loving this recipe.

  3. Angie, you need to submit one of your awesome, healthy recipes on my linky party today!!! Have a great weekend!
